Our Objectives

The objectives of the Association are:
- To bring together Malaysians and former Malaysians through educational, social, sporting, cultural and economic activities, and to promote the interests of its members and to foster better understanding and co-operation between Malaysians and former Malaysians in Australia which include:
- promoting and maintaining unity and friendship among Malaysians and former Malaysians and other communities;
- Sharing information among members and networking;
- Participating in activities relating to exploring educational, social, cultural and economic collaboration, opportunities and promotions organised by the Western Australian Government and other relevant Western Australian organisations and authorities;
- organising meetings between members and the relevant organisations and authorities of Western Australia on social, cultural and economic matters;
- co-operating with local and national authorities to seek Members' feedback on laws, regulations and procedures relevant to enhance the attractiveness and effectiveness of Western Australian collaborative undertakings;
- through the Executive Committee of The Association of Malaysians in Western Australia, submitting petitions and suggestions to Western Australian authorities in order to protect legitimate interests of its members and to contribute to the creation of a co-operative environment;
- publishing and distributing news bulletins in accordance with the law on Publication of Australia;
- promoting business ties between Malaysia and Western Australia for the mutual benefit of members and their Australian counterparts.
- In addition, the primary activities of the Association of Malaysians in Western Australia will be:
- arranging functions amongst its members, with the members of other associations, both foreign and domestic, Western Australian authorities and with Malaysian educational, social, cultural and economic delegations visiting Western Australia;
- promoting educational, social, sporting, cultural and economic activities for its members;
- organising seminars and dialogues on relevant educational, social, cultural and economic topics of interests to members;
- creating and maintaining a good general Malaysian image, and to protect the reputation and standing of Malaysia as a whole among citizens of Australia;
- Raise funds through various lawful means, to meet the operational costs of the association;
- supporting appropriate charitable/educational/social/ cultural/economic organisations;
- undertaking such other activities as may from time to time bet, permitted under the laws of Australia;
