Merdeka's Ball & Merdeka's Cup - A great success! Thank you for all your support towards the AMWA first Merdeka Ball. More than 300 people celebrated Merdeka together with great food, cultural shows, music and dance. Thanks also to all the golfers coming together to make the Merdeka's Cup a great success! Malaysian Community Food Fair 2006 - 20.8.2006 The Malaysian community in W.A. enjoyed great Malaysian food at the food fair held at Queens Park Recreation Centre and contributed toward a good cause on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. All funds raised were donated to the Silver Jubilee Home for the Aged in Penang, Malaysia.
Agong's Cup 2006 Golf Tournament- 4.6.2006
The Agong's Cup 2006 organised by AMWA was a great success, with over 90 participants taking part in the tournament. Congratulations to Winson Iskander, winner of the golf tournament, as well as to the lucky winner of the lucky draw, winning an MAS ticket to KL. Many other prizes donated by various sponsors were given away, so no one went home empty handed!

Networking Lunch w/ Craig Fong - 12.5.2006
We were very privileged to have actor Craig Fong as our guest in this AMWA function, held at Satay Cafe, Mt. Pleasant.
Craig has been an actor based in Asia for many years. He was in the movie Entrapment starring Sean Connery & Catherine Zeta-Jones, which was filmed in KL. Craig was sharing his experiences and promoting/autographing his DVD Spinning Gasing for $15 each. Everyone had a good Malaysian lunch too!
AMWA family BBQ/picnic - 25.2.2006
The AMWA family bbq/picnic was held in the wonderful setting of King's Park on the 25th Feb 2006. The weather was perfect and what better way than to spend the afternoon in the company of fellow Malaysians and good food.
The organisers did a superb job as there was a good turnout and everyone went home with their stomaches full.
PM Badawi's visit to Perth - 22.2.2006
The Honourable Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Prime Minister of Malaysia, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Technology by the Curtin University of Technology at a special ceremony on 22nd Feb 2006.
AMWA Award honouring top student - 11.1.2006
Adrian Khoo of Scotch College was awarded the Inaugural AMWA Award, for outstanding performance in the 2005 TEE Exams. Adrian was presented with the award by Consul-General Jazri at Makan2 restaurant in Victoria Park.
DeepaRaya celebration - 6.12.2005
An end of year function to celebrate Hari Raya and Deepavali as well as to officially launch AMWA, which was incorporated as an association in October 2005. Many people, including invited guests from Malaysia, packed the the poolside function room at the Seasons of Perth Hotel. A relaxing atmosphere, buffet dinner, good music and raffle prizes.
