The Malaysia Day - MERDEKA CELEBRATION 2009 will be held in conjunction with Malaysia's 52nd Independence Day celebrations. The celebration this year will be the footmark of the many activities organised by the Association of Malaysians in Western Australia and shall be the meeting ground of Malaysians and their friends to the warmth of Malaysian hospitality.
This year The Association of Malaysians in Western Australia Inc (AMWA) is celebrating the 52 years of Independence or better known in Malaysia as MERDEKA DAY Celebration in a modest atmosphere. There was a Malaysia Day Golf Tournament on Sunday 16 August 2009 at The Vines Resort and Country Club in the Swan Valley, attended by a record number of golfers in AMWA's golf event! The annual MERDEKA BALL will be held on the 27 September 2009 at the Air Force Memorial Estate.
